Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the TCM Introduction Course?

The 4-month TCM Introduction Course is an educational program designed to teach anyone the basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including the acupuncture meridians, acupuncture/pressure techniques, TCM theory and diagnostics.

How does TCM differ from Western medicine?

TCM focuses on treating the root causes of illness and restoring balance in the body, while Western medicine often targets symptoms directly. TCM principles offer a more holistic approach.

What are the main benefits of learning TCM?

By learning Traditional Chinese Medicine, professionals can offer more integrative care, improve patient outcomes, and address chronic conditions that may not respond well to conventional treatments.

Are these TCM courses accredited?

Yes, the TCM Introduction and Foundation Courses offered by the International Medical Arts Institute are fully accredited and recognized for professional development.

What practical skills will I learn in the TCM Foundation Course?

You’ll learn advanced acupuncture techniques, herbal formulations, and detailed diagnostic methods, which can be applied to treat a wide range of medical conditions.

This program does not allow the use of acupuncture, but rather acupressure and various devices which can be used on the acupuncture points. Most devices and therapies use the meridians so it is a program for anyone who wants some TCM background. Perfect in health clinics, health food stores, and in one’s own practice. Students need to study outside of school and attend all classes (which are recorded, should an emergency arise).
